New Year, New Faces

It is so encouraging and we feel so blessed that Reality continues to grow. From the
end of September we will have 18 people on the team, God is good!
We have new faces joining our Youth Team. After 5 years with Reality Becky
Murgatroyd is moving on to Study full time at DMU and we are pleased to announce
that we have appointed Emily Oelrich as the new Trainee Team Leader at Sutton in the
Elms Baptist Church. Emily will be starting at the end of September and will be a great
addition to the team. Becky will of course be missed by us all. Her big heart especially
for broken young g people has been an example to us all and the legacy that she leaves
at Church is a bunch of young people who love Jesus and want to make him known to
those around them. Becky leaves with our love and our prayers and we look forward to
what God has for her as she steps out in faith into the future and the next part of her
journey. Luke Wigston also joins us on a gap year based at Whetstone Baptist Church
working alongside Charlotte and will be much needed company for Martin!
We have just almost doubled our events manger post to 15 hours a week. We are
delighted that Becky Gradden has agreed to the increase in hours which will be a huge
bonus as we look to double the amount of young people on our ncounter extra
weekends, and look to do our bit in reaching 300 communities across the UK by 2013!
Helen will continue to lead Abundant Life and with new appointment Polly as
Administrator and sessional worker, and 3 more sessional workers, Mike, Davy and
Philipa ready and raring to go (and 2 of the Real Care babies with new heads!!!) it
promises to be yet another exciting year bringing hope to a largely lost and
hope-less generation.
We also have 4 students on placement with us from DMU. Mike and Ben (both third
years) will lead that team and Dumisani and Leanne will both be doing their second year
placement with us. Part of Leanne’s role is as lead youth worker at Narborough Youth
Club which is new partnership between Reality and the Parish Council there.
Please pray for all of the new members of staff as they settle into their new roles.
Please pray that our faithful God will once again provide for us financially as we need to
raise another £10k for this coming year!
Family News
Our wonderful Family Holiday on the Isle of Wight
Another school year is upon us and there are lots of changes this year. Naomi is moving
into her last year at Greenfield Primary and Isaac and Joel are now in Years 3 and 1
respectively. Rehearsals are about to get underway for Naomi’s next dance show,
Isaac’s first season of competitive football has just kicked off (with expectations high
after they reached the final in a pre season tournament) and the big thing in Joel’s life is
tennis and having just acquired his very own Andy Murray racquet he is ready to take on
the world of tennis!
For Gem it is massive year starting a Foundation Degree in Educational Studies at
Leicester Uni, taking on more hours at Greenfield Primary school as a class room
assistant working with a student with Cerebral Palsy and continuing to keep the books
for Reality (where she has acquired the name hawk eye!). Please pray for all of us as a
family as we all get used to the big changes ahead this year.
Thank you so much for your continued support we really couldn’t do it without you, we
thank God for each and every one of you.
